So the big ginge flew through yesterday’s trot up at Keysoe CDI. Drawn last to go though so some time to kill before our 950pm start time tonight. Fingers crossed pony is awake enough!
We had a pretty clean run in the Grand Prix, one mistake from the rider, but sadly a generally underpowered passage tour! Cost us dearly, so we finished just outside the top ten, but through to the music for the following evening kicking off around 730. Time to try to turn up the power and kick on.
Bo was a star. I came to the conclusion by Saturday evening after the Grand Prix, I had completely underestimated the impact his shenanigans at Myerscough the week before had, had on him. We were effectively running on half power the entire show, he literally couldn’t have tried any harder for me and for that I will be eternally grateful. I reduced and modified his warm up for the freestyle on Saturday night and from a very early draw in the class he held his own to finish in tenth place. He felt fantastic in the warm up, loose, easy and trying his heart out but when I pressed on the accelerator there just wasn’t any more to give. He’ll have a lovely few days now hand grazing and being generally spoilt. Thank you to everyone that made the show and our time there possible.
